Welcome to AFL.ALLTHESTATS.COM

AFL.ALLTHESTATS.COM provides a comprehensive Australian Football League statistical and data resource for scholars, researchers, statisticians, intellectuals, mathematicians, sports professionals and most importantly for footy fans.

When you can measure what you are speaking about and express it in numbers, you know something about it; but when you cannot measure it, when you cannot express it in numbers, your knowledge is of the meager and unsatisfactory kind.
- Lord Kelvin (Physicist)

This site contains a myriad of dynamic and interactive statistical pages based around the quarter by quarter scores, players and coaches of all 13,753 VFL and AFL matches played from it's inception year in 1897 up until Sunday, 29th August, 2010.

MRP shows inconsistencies again

The AFLs Match Review Panel has done it again. Their inconsistent findings have all commentators of the game scratching their heads, not to mention us poor supporters. Twelve weeks for Steven Baker's four charges (which can be reduced to nine with an early plea), of which three are a joke when taken into context of other events in the last few weeks. How can the MRP continually make these ridiculous decisions? Surely they should be held accountable. To get three weeks for each of Baker's first two indiscretions is pure lunacy when you compare them with Chris Judd's elbow to Pavlich's head. Baker received one week for unreasonable and unnecessary contact with an injured player. Come on. Anyone see Jack Riewoldt repeatedly doing exactly the same thing a few or so weeks back. Only difference was that Baker barely touched Johnson's hand. The Saints should definately contest three of the four charges and cop the three weeks for the smack in the jaw.

Buddy Brilliant

The Hawk's Buddy Franklin picked up 26 possessions and kicked five goals to help steer the Hawks home for their sixth straight win to ensure they go into the break sitting in the top eight. His two last quarter goals sprinting around the wing were inspiring and will certainly be up there for goal of the year. Buddy certainly enjoys playing the Dons having kicked 37 goals in his last six games against them.

Gillard to pull on the boots?

Now that Julia Gillard has pushed out the elected Prime Minister, the odds she will commence training with the Western Bulldogs next week have taken a dive. Mrs Gillard has made quips over the last month the she'd have more chance of becoming Full Forward for the Dogs, sailing around the world solo a dozen times, starring in a Spielberg production with Brad Pitt and adventuring into outer-space, than challenging for the leadership of the Labour Party. I feel for the youngsters at the Dogs that will now be pushed back in the queue thanks to Mrs Gillard upcoming debut. :)

Riewoldt boots 10

Jack Riewoldt became the 105th VFL/AFL player to kick 10 or more goals and the 10th Tiger to achieve the feat as he booted 10.3 yesterday at the MCG against an ordinary West Coast Eagles outfit. Richmond were never in trouble as they recorded their second win of the year and are now just one game and percentage off lifting themselves off the bottom of the table.

Riewoldt's tally is the first double figure goal haul by a player since Jonathan Brown's 10 against Carlton in 2007 and is four goals better than his previous best. With Riewoldt just 21 years old, the question was raised who the youngest player to achieve this feat was. That record belongs to another Tiger player in Doug Strang who kicked 14 goals against North Melbourne back in 1931 in just his second game at 18 years, 300 days.
